Gold Skylanders

Gold Skylanders Figures are some of the very rarest figures out there. Over the last year there has been an increasing demand for these figures and consequently prices for these toys have soared! There are four gold Skylanders toys in all. The three rarest are all from the original Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure game, and these are gold Chop Chop, Drill Sergeant and Flameslinger. Only one gold figure has been produced so far in the Skylanders Giants game and this is a series 2 version of Flameslinger. This figure is much more common, and so much more reasonably priced! It is important to know however, that even though these gold toys look awesome, the figures themselves behave in the same way as their normal versions, and look exactly like the standard characters, when they appear in the video game. They also have the same stats as the ordinary figures, so essentially the only difference is that the toy is painted gold!

Gold Skylanders from Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure

Gold Skylanders toys from this game were sent out randomly in limited numbers to retailers and found on the shelves alongside their standard counterparts. The stores did not know which, if any of these figures that they would receive, and only a limited number were produced. This meant that most of the gold toys that reached stores were bought up immediately. If you did find one you were very luck indeed. Pretty soon after these figures were released, they started appearing on sites such as Amazon and Ebay for much higher prices. You can still find these gold Skylanders today, but be prepared to pay a lot of money for them!

Gold Chop Chop

This is perhaps the rarest and most expensive of all the gold Skylanders. Gold Chop Chop really does look awesome. Chop Chop is an Undead figure,  who is a fierce warrior. The figure holds a large sword and shield and wears great looking armor. The gold version of this figure does look pretty cool, and is completely covered in gold paint, including the base. The only part of Gold Chop Chop that is not gold, is the green plastic at the bottom of the figures base.

 

 

Gold Drill Sergeant

Drill Sergeant is supposed to be an ancient robot, so he really suits being colored gold, since he is made out of metal anyway. The gold version of Drill Sergeant is also very rare, and can only be found on sites such as Amazon or eBay.

 

 

 

Gold Flameslinger

Gold Flameslinger is a pretty great looking toy. Flameslinger is an Elven Archer, who shoots flaming arrows, and so suits the metallic gold coloring. Again, The Gold Flameslinger from Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure is very rare, and can fetch high prices online.

 

Gold Skylanders from Skylanders Giants

As I mentioned above, there is only one gold figure that has been on sale from the Skylanders Giants video game and this is Gold Flameslinger. Sold as an Amazon exclusive, this figure is much more common that the other gold toys, and so sells for a much lower price. Not strictly speaking a gold figure ‘on sale in stores’ I am also including gold Prism Break in this list. Read on for more information on one of the rarest toys out there!

Series 2 Gold Flameslinger

The series 2 gold Flameslinger, is as I mentioned above, far more common that the other gold Skylanders. It is however, still any awesome looking figure. You can identify this gold toy because its base is an orangy red color, as oppose to the Series 1 Flameslinger that has a gold base. Also this Flameslinger is holding 3 arrows, and has a slightly different pose.

 

 

Lightcore Gold Prism Break

Lightcore Gold Prism Break was never produced to go on sale in stores. This super rare figure was given to Toy’s For Bob (the company that makes Skylanders Giants) employees as an exclusive holiday gift! This figure is one of my favorites out of all the Skylanders out there. The Toy is a Lightcore Prims Break, that has huge crystals that glow green on the Portal of Power. The figure is painted gold, but has white flocked material on the top of his head, on his arms and on the base to simulate snow. Totally awesome! I would really love this figure, but could never afford it!
