Skylanders Flameslinger

Skylanders Flameslinger is an elven archer, that fires flaming arrows, so he was always going to be a popular  character! We first saw him in the Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure video game, and there was also a super rare gold version of him produced too! He returned again in Skylanders Giants, and a much less rare, but still just as awesome gold version was created again. Whether we see a new version of Flameslinger in the Skylanders Swap Force game is uncertain. Swap Force is due out in Fall 2013, and all I know so far is that 16 characters will be returning, and Stealth Elf is one of them. Once I have any more information, I will update this page.

skylanders flameslingerSkylanders Flameslinger is an elven archer, who is so confident about his aim that he wears a blindfold! As a young elf, he rescued a fire spirit, and was rewarded with a magical bow and fire arrows and enchanted fire boots. With his new found skills, he decided to become a Skylander.

Series 1 Skylanders FlameSlinger

skylanders flameslingerThe Series 1 figure was designed for the Spyro’s Adventure video game, and has green plastic at the bottom of the base. He belongs to the Fire Element group of Skylanders and so has orange flames decorating the base of the toy. The Series 1 figure  is pretty cool, he is a green elf, with blue tied back hair that wears a blindfold. The figure is holding a magic bow and is about to shoot a flaming arrow. This Series 1 figure, will also play in the Giants game.

Series 2 Skylanders Flameslinger

skylanders flameslingerThe Series 2 figure was designed for the Giants game, and has orange plastic at the bottom of the base. This figure has a slightly different pose, and he is holding three flaming arrows instead of one. Also, when playing the video game, this figure has a special “Wow Pow” upgrade power, and at a certain point in the game there is a choice of two different upgrade paths. You can either decide to improve his Fire Arrow skills or his Fire Damage Skills. This Series 2 figure will also play in the  Spyro’s Adventure game.

Series 1 Gold Flameslinger

Gold Flameslinger This gold figure is very rare, as only a small number of them were ever produced. The Series 1 Gold figure was found on shelves next to the regular version. These figure were snapped up pretty quickly and soon began appearing on sites such as Amazon or eBay for large amounts of money. This figure is basically a Series 1 figure painted a gold color. Even the base is painted gold, and he does look pretty awesome. It is important to know that even though he looks very different to the regular version, he plays and looks exactly the same as normal version in the Spyro’s Adventure video game.

Series 2 old Flameslinger

series 2 gold flameslingerThis version was produced as an Amazon exclusive, and was available from the launch of Giants. This figure was produced in much larger numbers than the Series 1 Gold version, and so is far less expensive. You can tell the two gold figures apart, as the Series 2 version has an orange base, rather than a gold one, and the figure holds 3 arrows instead of one. In the same way as the Series 1 version, this figure will look and play exactly like a regular figure in the video game.

Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure: Flameslinger

Max’s Review

I like his attack that makes a fire column and that does a lot of damage. I like his fire arrows and his fire volley, when he shoots about 4 flaming arrows.  I guess I like the way he can walk while blindfolded. Fire types have an advantage over zombies. My favorite move is his fire column attack.
