Skylanders Lightning Rod is a popular Skylanders character in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure and Skylanders Giants.
Skylanders Lightning Rod once lived in the majestic Cloud Kingdom, where his countless acts of heroism along with his winning smile and electric physique made him the most famous storm giant in the realm. He was a true celebrity, and the palace halls were littered with statues of the chiseled hero. But all the praise and admiration could never quite satisfy Rod, who yearned for something more. As luck would have it, he met an adventurous young dragon named Spyro, who told him fantastic stories of faraway places and dangerous adventures. Rod was spellbound, and he set off with Spyro to seek an audience with Eon to join the Skylanders.
Lightning Rod is an Air Skylander. This type of Skylander uses the Element Air to generate wind and storms to destroy enemies. The color of this element is light blue. Air Skylanders in their toy form, stand on a pedestal of clouds.

Lightning Rod Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure (series 1)
Lightning Rod was one of the later figure released in the Spyro’s Adventure game. If you have a series 1 Lightning Rod you can use it in the Skylanders Giants game. Also, any levelled up stats and customizations your figure has, will remain. You will also be able to level up your Lightning Rod figure from 10 to 15 in the Giants game.
Lightning Rod Skylanders Giants (series 2)
The Skylanders Giants Lightning Rod figure has a slightly different pose and sits on an orange base rather than the original green one. This new Lightning Rod figure features a “WowPow” upgrade power, and a choice of more than one upgrade path. The new Lightning Rod figure can also be used in the original Spyro’s Adventure game.

Got my 7 year old grandson skylanders for Christmas. He loves it and now has about a dozen characters. He really wants Lightening Rod and calls me twice a week. “Grandma, have they released Lightening Rod yet”? His friend says his older brother has all of them including Lightening Rod. Where is the best place to go to find out when skylanders have been released?
I think Lightning Rod is out now and also Zook. Sunburn has been released in the Adventure Pack Dragon’s Peak. It’s just they are in such short supply that they are hard to find in stores. Best Buy, Game Stop, Target, Walmart and Sam’s Club sell Skylanders, you could always call your local store to see when they might get a delivery. They also have online sales, but they are mostly out of stock. Amazon and Ebay also have Skylanders, but due to their scarcity, often the prices are highly inflated. As far as I know Warnado, Wham-Shell and Camo are still unavailable.
