Skylanders Wrecking Ball

Skylanders Wrecking Ball is one of the most likeable of all the Skylanders characters. We first saw Wrecking Ball in the original Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure video game. In this game he charmed everyone with his big green eyes, funny blue body and extraordinarily long tongue!  There was a special version of him in the first game that glowed in the dark! He returned in the second game, called Skylanders Giants, but at the moment I don’t know whether he will be making an appearance in the 3rd game called Skylanders Swap Force. This brand new game is doe for release in Fall 2013, and I just can’t wait to see if Wrecking Ball will be one of the 16 returning characters.

Skylanders Wrecking BallSkylanders Wrecking Ball has very unusual origins. He began life as a tiny grub worm, who unfortunately became an ingredient in a cauldron of magic stew. Once a wizard had dropped him into the mixture, he devoured all the soup and jumped from the cauldron twenty times larger, with a long sticky tongue. The poor wizard then got devoured himself! Luckily Master Eon found him, and from that day on he decided to become a Skylander, and help defend the Skylands against evil.

Series 1 Skylanders Wrecking Ball

Skylanders Wrecking BallThe Series 1  figure, has green at the bottom of the base, and the base itself is decorated with moons and stars. This shows that he belongs to the Magic Element group . Skylanders Wrecking Ball himself is a bizarre creature. He is bright blue in color, with yellow spines, a large mouth and tongue and big green eyes. This figure was designed for the  Spyro’s Adventure game, but will play in the Giants game.

Series 2 Skylanders Wrecking Ball

skylanders wrecking ballThe Series 2 figure was designed for the  Giants video game, and has orange plastic at the bottom of the base. This figure has a slightly different pose from the Series 1 figure and his bottom teeth are huge! The Series 2 figure also has a special “Wow Pow” upgrade power, and at a certain point in the game there is a choice of two different upgrade paths. You can either concentrate on improving his Tongue Attack or his Forcefield Attack.

Series 3 Skylanders Wrecking Ball

At the moment I do not know if there will be a Series 3 version . All Activision have said is that there will be 16 returning characters, and that Stealth Elf will be one of them. Once I have any additional information, I will update this page.

Glow In The Dark Wrecking Ball

glow in the dark wrecking ballThis special figure was produced for Spyro’s Adventure that actually glows in the dark. This glow in the dark  figure was found randomly on store shelves for a short period of time. You can still get this rare figure on sites such as Amazon or ebay.

Max’s Review

I guess Wrecking Ball is one of my favorites and he can do a burp attack and you can charge it up with an upgrade. He can also eat enemies when they are almost at zero health, he sticks out his tongue and it does damage and eventually the final hit comes and he swallows the opponent. He is a bit like a little blue puppy. He can also charge and then release a gross green goo after he finishes the roll. My favorite move is his burp,  the smell or noise of the size of it destroys enemies.
