This game has really broken new ground with the concept that real-world toys interact directly with the video game, using an innovative “Portal of Power“.
The story behind the game is that for thousands of years, the Skylanders have used their magical powers and weapons to protect the Skylands. However now an evil tyrant has frozen them and banished them to Earth. Hence the Skylanders Characters! Players of the game can put the figures on the Portal of Power and bring them back to life in their world to save the Skylands.

How Do You Play Spyro’s Adventure?
Skylanders Trigger Happy
Once a Character is placed on the Portal of Power, the character leaps to life on the TV, as the portal is capable of communicating with toys as they are placed on it. All the characters levels, equipment and treasure are stored inside the toy, which means that you can take your toy to a friends house and it automatically remembers this information. Your Character can upgrade moves and weapons, and gain strength and take this with them wherever they go, and the characters play on all consoles. It doesn’t matter if you have a Wii and your friend has an XBox, the characters can be moved around all the different consoles without a problem.
Skylanders Spiro
It is possible to follow all the story and the levels with the 3 figures in the Starter Pack, but you won’t be able to reach all of the side missions, or collect all the achievements. Each section of the levels play to the elemental strengths of the characters. At some points you would be better off using a tech character like Trigger Happy, but if you need to cross water Gill Grunt can come to the rescue. Just take Trigger Happy off the portal and put on Gill Grunt, it only takes a moment, and a new character joins the game with different abilities. If your character dies during the level you can either restart the level or put another character on the portal. The more figures you have, the longer you can continue playing, without restarting the level.
There are 32 different Skylanders Characters to collect at present. Some can be purchased in Single Character Packs, some in Triple Character packs, and some in Adventure Packs.
While playing Spyro’s Adventure, you can battle save the Skylands, and explore many beautifully designed worlds. There are many adventures and puzzles to discover. You can play with or against your friends in Co-op mode. You can also challege yourself with fun mini games.
